Solstice wedding - Making history at Burnaby Village Museum | West Vancouver Wedding Photographer

It was a perfect summer solstice evening and I got to photograph two beautiful friends of mine getting hitched and making history at the quaint Burnaby Village Museum. A small wedding of 50 people listening to this couple exchange their vows to have and to hold in love under the roof of the cutest white and brown church. These two met over a decade ago while pursuing their Masters degree in Education and after ten years, decided it was high time. With a True Confections cake in hand and ring in the other during a camping trip, he promised to marry her and together, they decided to plan the most casual wedding they can. She made her own bouquet, enjoyed a spa date with her best girl (her daughter), ate a quick lunch at the food court, and got dressed for the occasion, just like it was another day in her life. As she walked down the aisle, their eyes met and their grins said it all - these two were determined to laugh and enjoy the little things of this day as they do everyday of their time together. Then the party really started: their guests enjoyed iced coffees and ice-cream at the Parlour while we (as per the couple's request) quickly did the wedding shots so that this sweet couple may enjoy the festivities with their friends and families. I think these images speaks volumes of the laughter shared, the love felt. Our hearts are full.
